Battlefield 6 Joins Xbox Game Pass on October 13 as Season 5 Heads to Las Vegas
The best-selling game of 2025 joins Game Pass on October 13, with Season 5's Las Vegas maps arriving at the same time. Here's what subscribers get.
If you've been waiting for the right moment to jump into Battlefield 6, it just arrived. The game — the best-selling title of 2025 — joined Xbox Game Pass on October 13, the same day Season 5 took the fighting to Las Vegas.
Which Game Pass plans include it?
Battlefield 6 is included with Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, and you can play it on Xbox Series X|S, on PC, or through cloud gaming.
Free bonuses for subscribers
Game Pass Ultimate includes EA Play, which adds some extras:
- The EA Play Deployment Pack
- The Season 5 EA Play Pack
- 10% off eligible EA digital purchases
Season 5: Siege of Vegas
EA's fifth season is all about Las Vegas. Here's what's been announced:
- New maps: Vegas Strip and Area 51 are available from launch, and an infantry-focused European Casino map arrives later in the season.
- Four new weapons at launch: the Mk 24 assault rifle, RSPR submachine gun, Z84M light machine gun and ELR-40 bolt-action sniper rifle.
- A Dead Space crossover called the Convergence Event, starting this Halloween. EA has not given exact dates.
- The new maps also come to Portal, Battlefield's custom game mode.
- REDSEC, the battle royale, gets Rapid Royale in Trios and Solos, while the Gauntlet mode leaves the playlist.
- Balance changes for armoured vehicles and anti-air weapons.
- A new ranked battle royale season, the REDSEC Open Series, and leaderboards for multiplayer.
Season 5 started on October 13, the same day Battlefield 6 joined Game Pass, which makes it a good time to start fresh.
Season 5 roadmap
| Date | What arrives |
|---|---|
| October 13 | Season 5 starts with Vegas Strip, Area 51, four weapons and Rapid Royale; Gauntlet is removed |
| October 15–19 | Battlefield 6 Full Game Trial |
| Halloween (dates TBA) | Convergence Event, a Dead Space crossover |
| November 10 | Casino Heist update, a limited-time event |
| December 8 | Frozen Aces update with Operation High Roller, Platoons, the server browser, map updates and the B-81 Cavalry |
EA says the server browser, long requested by players, arrives with the December 8 update rather than at launch. Later content is not final, and plans can change.
Is it worth playing on Game Pass?
If you already subscribe to Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass, the answer is easy: the game and the EA Play extras are included in your plan. If you don't subscribe, the free trial from October 15 to 19 is a risk-free way to see whether the series' return to big, destructible multiplayer still suits you before paying for Game Pass or the game.
Also coming to Game Pass
Battlefield 6 leads Microsoft's first October wave, which also includes Valor Mortis on its October 13 launch day, Forever Ago, and Deep Dish Dungeon.
Battlefield vs. Call of Duty
The timing is interesting. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 launches on October 23 — and reports say it won't be on Game Pass at launch. For subscribers choosing a shooter this month, Battlefield 6 has a clear head start.
The reality check
- Game Pass is a rental. If the game ever leaves the catalogue, you lose access unless you buy it.
- Several features are still ahead. The server browser and Platoons are months away, and the third map has no date.
- Modern Warfare 4 is near. Both shooters will compete for your time after October 23.
Will you be jumping into Battlefield 6 on Game Pass, or waiting for Modern Warfare 4?
